National/State Scholarships for the 2023/2024 school year
Sonora Lumber Scholarship Program was created to cultivate a skilled workforce; fostering growth, innovation, and community strength by investing in and encouraging educational pursuits, ensuring a future where individuals thrive in fulfilling trade and construction careers. The program is funded in collaboration with Nation’s Best Holdings, LLC and the NB Cares Scholarship Fund. Total scholarship will be up to $1000. Scholarship will be awarded upon receipt of official letter from educational institution providing proof of enrollment. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and graded on the application itself and the criteria mentioned above. Applications must be submitted through the online portal no later than February 29th. The notification process will begin in May. Native Daughters of the Golden West: Scholarships are available to those who are California-born, members of the NDGW, or eligible to affiliate with the NDGW, or have a familial relationship to a member. The Scholarships: Up to a maximum of $1,350 for any UC or CSU campus, Annie L. Adair Scholarships up to a maximum of $1,300 each to students majoring in business or social welfare at an accredited CA university or college, Sue J. Irwin Scholarships up to a maximum of $1,000 each awarded to students of an accredited CA university, college, or vocational program, trade school, or online course. Small School Districts Association Student Achievement Scholarships We are thrilled to announce the opportunity for three (3) deserving students to each win a $500 scholarship! To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
High school student (Grades 9-12)
Student of an SSDA member district
The recipients of these scholarships will be announced during SSDA’s 2024 State Conference on Sunday, March 10, between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM. Let’s pave the path to a brighter future for students in our small school districts! The submission deadline is EOD (End of Day) on Monday, March 4, 2024!
Horatio Alger Association Scholarships We have scholarships for $10,000 and $25,000 for CA High school Juniors! The application is open from December 1, 2023 to March 15, 2024. The Horatio Alger Association seeks to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students who have demonstrated integrity, determination in overcoming adversity, academic potential, the personal aspiration to make a unique contribution to society, strength of character and financial need. The Association awards 7 scholarships with a $25,000 National scholarship and 51 students from the state of CA with $10,000 scholarships. Key Criteria for Qualification:
– Enrolled as a full time high school junior
– Demonstrate critical financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
– Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
– At least a 2.0 gpa
– Be a US citizen

The Race to End the Stigma Scholarship was created in efforts to begin the conversation about mental health. The $1,000 Race to End the Stigma scholarship is granted annually to graduating high school seniors within the twenty-one countries that we serve who have expressed interest in raising mental health awareness or who have shared their story about mental health. Yosemite Farm Credit’s $750 Graduating FFA Student Scholarship The recipient should be selected based on leadership skills, community involvement, and how well he/she emulates our Association Values: Respect the dignity of work; Keeps promises and commitments; Service above self; Trust, courtesy, respect and complete honesty; Continue to seek further education. This scholarship is not based on the student’s GPA. Scholarship recipient to be selected by your Agriculture Department by MARCH 29, 2024. The date and time of your FFA Award ceremony to be provided by MARCH 29, 2024. We strive to have a Yosemite Farm Credit employee present our scholarship to the selected recipient at your award ceremony. Please provide this information as soon as possible so we may arrange a presenter. Each recipient’s name will also be added to your school’s perpetual plaque. Northeast California Better Business Bureau Barry Goggin Scholarship High school seniors and recently-graduated young adults are eligible for a scholarship we currently have available! The $2500 Barry Goggin Scholarship (https://www.bbb.org/local/1156/barry-goggin-scholarship) is open for students who will be pursuing either academic or vocational education in the fall of 2024. Women in Technology Scholarship Now in its 18th year, WITS has supported 169 women pursuing a degree in computer science, information management systems, or another IT-related field. VIP is proud to help women in their journey to becoming the great thinkers, achievers, and creators of tomorrow’s information technology industry. The WITS program is made available annually to women across the United States, it launches during the first quarter with awards granted during the second quarter of each year. The WITS Program will grant multiple scholarship awards that value up to $2,500.00 per recipient. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2024. TriCounty LGBT Alliance Scholarship Program: The mission of the Tri-County LGBT Alliance is to enrich and uplift the life quality and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ people in Tuolumne, Calaveras, and Amador Counties. We aim for intersectional engagement in community development while celebrating our LGBTQIA+ and rural identities, striving for visibility and equity in all areas of community life. This is a scholarship opportunity available to area seniors graduating in 2024. Application for consideration is simple: If you identify as LGBTQIA+, or as an LGBTQIA+ ally, write a 500 word minimum essay on what acceptance means to you. Essays must be completed and submitted by April 1st, 2024. To submit an essay, mail it to Tri-County LGBT Alliance at PO Box 894 Murphys, CA 95247 or email it to email@example.com. Please include a cover letter with your full name, contact information and what school you attend. The essay should follow the cover letter without your name so that they may be read anonymously. Up to $2000 will be awarded in varying amounts to selected recipients; scholarships will be decided by May 15th, 2024 and awarded shortly after. Please indicate whether or not you wish for your scholarship award to be announced publicly or kept anonymous, as we always want to honor your level of comfort being associated with the LGBTQIA+ Community, and we understand that can be quite complicated.
Italian Catholic Federation: The Italian Catholic Federation (I.C.F) is a National Roman Catholic Fraternal Organization composed of persons of Italian ancestry (including their non-Italian spouses) who are of Roman Catholic Faith. Requirements: total cumulative GPA (3 1/2 years) of at least 3.2 and meet all of the requirements in either #1 or #2:
1) Are Roman Catholic and of Italian Descent and live within the Roman Catholic Dioceses of California, Illinois and Reno in Nevada, only where Branches of the Federation are established. or 2) if either Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, the student must be Roman Catholic but need not be of Italian Descent or live where Branches of the Federation are established – membership of a Roman Catholic parent, guardian or grandparent is mandatory for #2.
